GRINGO CENTRAL is a non-member based, loose organization of like-minded people living in and around San Ramon.
Gringo Central was founded in 2007 by several Gringos who, new to the area, thought it would be helpful to have a place on the web where information could be shared, events could be announced and helpful opportunities could be presented.
The rest, as they say, is history.
Now Gringo Central has more than 500 subscribers and provides the community – Gringos, Ticos and visitors from around the world – with the ability to learn what’s happening, seek and often find opportunities in and around San Ramon as well as throughout Costa Rica.
Café Delicias
But, wait, there’s more . . .
Besides creating the Gringo Central website, these same people decided it would be a good idea to get together once a week, face to face, to swap stories, trade resources and just touch base. These meetings took place at Café Delicias and continue today.
Every Thursday morning, from about 9:30 until 11:00, between 10 and 30 people gather for coffee (and maybe a cinnamon roll) and conversation, see old friends and meet new. In fact, it’s not unusual to hear someone walk in and say, “Oh good, you guys still are meeting. I was here about 4 years ago . . . “
And so it goes.
If you have never been to Thursday Morning Coffee, stop in sometime. All are welcome.
